Apple did NOT roll up the drivers for the Alumi-iMac, or the LED backlit MacBook Pro in 10.4.11 (unacceptable AFAIC). Because the Macbook hardware wasn't updated until after Leopard came out, there is no support in Tiger for the new Macbooks.

Are you sure? Have you made a new OS image using 10.4.11 on them? I think it would be dumb, although I wouldn’t put it past Apple, to not include support for the new MacBooks...
Have a good weekend, y’all!

Just got some clarity. I was imaging onto brand spanking new macbooks (the
ones with new funtion key layouts) with tiger and iwork 08. Turns out the
new hardware does not support tiger. It is leopard only.
For eg. No external nonitor support. And iwork does not work!
