[Casper] Reboot after an update

Not sure if this is a viable solution, and I am not aware of anything
that could go wrong from running the updates and not rebooting, it could
render somethings unusable until you reboot. On top of that you will
need to force the idea into your user base to actually reboot their
systems. If you think all of that is possible, you can send a bash
command to their machines via ARD, or a script or policy put in by
casper with the softwareupdate command.

I do not think it forces a rebooot

softwareupdate -ia (this would download and install all available
updates)

You could send that out, and it could update their systems and not
reboot them, but they would still need a reboot. If you user base is
mostly laptops as well, I can only assume users hardly ever log in our
out let alone reboot their computers.

Hi All,

I have had a number of users accidently click on the return key when
the dialog box pop-up after an OS update and the user never sees it.
Then they suddenly get rebooted and call me :) Does anyone have a
better solution to this or is there a way to have the 'OK' button not
the default?

Thank you,

Ryan
