[Casper] SMART status question

Wondering why several computers are reported as being added to or removed
from SMART status on a daily basis. I don't see any patterns - sometimes
it's the same computer being added/removed with no specific time period
between modifications and sometimes it's a computer that's never been
involved in a SMART status alert before.

We have a mixture of PPC and Intel machines. 99% are running 10.4.11.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
