First, make sure you¹re using version 1.0.2 of the SACM and 1.0.3 of the
SACM client installer. It comes with the corporate edition of SAV 10.2 and
fixes a lot of problems.
I prefer not to use the SACM for pushing updates. I want to see more
immediate results. Instead I have an ongoing policy in Casper to tell all
Macs to update themselves to our internal LiveUpdate server daily and I have
the same policy command in a saved ARD Send Unix command so that I can
manually update a machine. That command is:
/Applications/Symantec\ Solutions/LiveUpdate.app/Contents/MacOS/LiveUpdate
-update LUal -liveupdatequiet YES -liveupdateautoquit YES
For us the SACM is better used as a monitoring tool although we do send out
commands with it for some things.
