[Casper] DFS Shares

Well, we use ADmit Mac here for that purpose and I hate it. Thursby
is a very slow moving company and they always seem to come out with
updates that have some pretty major bugs (see current bug #1) then fix
them in the next release but break something else. I've reported the
aforementioned bug last september (or whenever 10.5.5 came out) and
they still haven't officially released the fix.
Their update cycle is slow and doesn't really work they way we would
like.
I might suggest going with Dave instead of ADmit Mac if you don't need
the AD binding stuff. Dave is just their DFS stuff, without taking
over AD binding. You could use Dave and Apple's AD plugin since
Thursby tends to screw too much stuff up/.
Current bug #1: On their current client, we are stuck at 10.5.4
because the client locks up the machine on login on newer updates.
They gave us a pre-release dev build of 4.1.3 to see if the problem is
there. I tested it and and the problems is gone, but they haven't
release 4.1.3 yet, so I'm running my campus of a dev preview. I asked
in January when they were planning to release 4.1.3 and they didn't
know, and I haven't seen it yet.
This has been reported to Apple a long time ago, and I'm hoping
something will change. If you can find a way to not go with the
Thursby products that's what I would recommend.
