[Casper] Network users not getting User template applied

I believe that this is what is happening:
On each Mac client you deploy, there is a template home folder [to
which Casper will happily apply updates so new users get the desired
settings]. When you create a new local user, the template home folder
is copied and then the user is given ownership of the files.
On each Mac server, there is also a template home directory. When a
network account is created, that template home folder is copied to the
users home folder on the server, which is then accessed directly over
the network or synchronized (depending on if you are using a pure
network account or portable home directories). When you install
software on your client machine, the templates are not adjusted on the
server.
Methinks that one could install the software on the server as well to
update the templates. I've never done it, though.
