[Casper] New macbooks

In regards to the non replaceable battery, they have battery replacement service in place already for the Macbook air and 17’ Macbook. The batteries are designed to last considerably longer that the standard laptop battery. I know most won’t believe it until they see it for themselves. Anyway the link below is how they do it for the 17” Pro right now. I’d assume something similar for the MacBook and being education and ordering in bulk it is a discussion to have with your SE and the person you order from.

And as far as not coming with it charged, what do you do if a student comes to class w/o a textbook? Don’t you have a way for them to plug in while in class? If so how do they get through a regular school day w/o ever plugging in? I know batteries are getting good, but if I had my laptop open in every class there is no way I’d make it through the day. My college was a 1:1 school and I never got through a day w/o plugging in. Even saying you only have it open in half of the classes since some time will be spent in Phy Ed lunch etc… You’re going to be hard pressed to stay charged all day I’d think.

OK, so, now that the new MacBooks with non-swappable batteries have been announced, what are the schools that have 1:1 programs gonna do if batteries start dying in laptops? Do you have swap programs? What happens if a student comes to school without the battery charged?
