I have a similar problem.
I often get no hits on a topic, that I know I have seen on past posts.
I just went to the site and took a close look at the threads page. Check this out....

"Note:The archive search index was last rebuilt at Tuesday, 12 Jun 2007 02:44:19 PDT. Any postings after that will not be found by a search. Index rebuild is usally done once every 24 hours for this list. You can use a "View by date" link below to access more recent postings"

Did they say 24 hours but meant 24 months? :)

Perhaps htDig needs to be ran against the pages more frequently to index them? Would be helpful.

The search engine on the casper archives site doesn't function for me.
