Jeff,
I'm just copying my reply to the list from 6/17 because I think it's what you're looking for.

CS3? That’s like old news! =)
But at least you can deploy it with the current JSS.
I would check a few things:
Instead of having the system reboot after you have it reimage, uncheck the reboot box, and then browse the Macintosh HD of the newly imaged partition and check the FirstRun startup items script and resources folder in itt o make sure the request to install CS3 is there and the DMG of the Master are in it. Then reboot to the Macintosh HD to let it run FirstRun
The FirstRun startup item is located in /Volumes/Macintosh HD/System/Library/StartupItems/
As someone has already mentioned you can check for Adobe installation logs in:
/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/
FirstRun will generically log the actions it took, some of them, into the main jamf.log:
/var/log/
Hopefully that gets you pointed in the right direction in terms of finding what went wrong. My guess is something is wrong with how you created your master image of the Master Collection somehow.

Sorry if I’m being redundant, but I’ve created my Adobe CS3 installer package, and at the end of my test image, I see the screen appear telling me that the image is finishing with the Adobe install. However, when I log into the machine, the apps are nowhere to be found. Am I doing something wrong?
