[Composer] .Composer or "diff" files and maintained lists of software?

I just purchased the stand alone ARD version of composer and after using
PackageMaker and Iceberg for a few years I¹ll say this is very easy- only
drawbacks have been that I can not use the imaging computer while imaging
for package creation because it will suck in all changed files (like added
bookmark updates).
Anyway I saw the very useful feature of creating preinstalled packages-
well it sounds nifty enough and I get the reasons for adding this into
composer but there is reference made to composer only being able to create
packages in this way when the .composer or ³diff² file is present and JAMF
is maintaining a list of software that works this way. Is this a list of
software a downloadable .composer files like a library of install indexes
(templates) that know where to find certain items? Where do I get these
.composer files? Are they a product of me having already created a .pkg
using the new or modified file scan?
I know its late but this is what I get from reading the PDF that accompanied
my paid download. Anyone¹s insight would be appreciated.
