[Composer] Deployment issue with ARD 2.2 and stand-alone Composer

I am new to Composer, but have successfully used it to
create an Apple Installer package for Adobe CS2,
choosing to deploy InDesign CS2 only. I have also
successfully installed this package across the network
to one machine as a test using Apple Remote Desktop
version 2.2.

I followed the same steps to deploy a full install of
Adobe CS 3 Design Premium. The installer package
creation went well, but sending it through ARD to
install remotely consistently fails without even
copying the package to the other machine. Obviously,
the CS 3 install is quite a bit larger. Simply using
ARD to copy the installer to the other machine also
fails. 

However, physically attaching an external hard disk
with the same package to the other machine allows me
to install the software directly, after installing
Developer Tools there. Is anyone aware of a size
limitation that would prevent ARD from copying the
package? Do I have to upgrade to ARD 3?
