[Composer] Question about using packages to install updates

Todd,

If you are already using ARD admin, could you not just remote control
the machines and run the adobe updater? Then you wouldn't have that
problem of pushing out duplicate packaged updates.

In my experience any kind of update is best ran on the machine locally
through the updater rather than a snap shot pushed out. That way if you
have say, different model machines with different hardware
configurations you won't have any conflicts.

Thanks,

I am curious to find out if anyone knows how the package install system
works.

In particular, I am making a package of Adobe CS3 updates that I want to
send out using ARD. If a user happens to have already installed updates
on their computer, what happens to the package contents I am sending?

Will the package I am sending overwrite the current files? Or will it
detect that a file is already there and avoid installing it?

Thanks!

Todd
