Date: Sun, 16 Aug 2009 10:50:49 -0500 Subject: [Composer] [Casper] Deploying Final Cut Studio Message-ID: Hi Matt, We deploy studio here, but you need to make sure you have a volume license installer (min 5 copies I believe) if you don't want to serialize each system you install your package on as that application is typically a hardware specific application. With the last version I made a regular composer package of just the main application and all the add-on pkg and mpgk installers I put in as is. It seemed to work, just need to make sure you install the pieces in the right order. Hope that helps. Just got our copy of the new release so I haven't done that, maybe this week. I have managed to combine the four Adobe DVD's for CS4 Design Premium and create and Adobe installer for that, but I haven't been able to find any info through the JAMF KB or Google for doing that with FCS. Then download and add the 12.2.0 and 12.2.1 updates. That will give you a fully patched Office installation. If your installer is 12.0.0, then you should be able to install that plus the 12.1.0, 12.2.0 and 12.2.1 updates, however, some issues with the older version of the installer file may prevent this from working. You may need to make your own 12.1.0 package first. Apply the rest of the updates using the installer .mpgk files provided by Microsoft. I've posted a script here that assists with Entourage/Exchange setups. It does not update existing Office 2004 identities but it's useful for new setups. Because I do set up some default prefs for entourage like fonts and what not I install this package on new installs. I have done this so if I need to reinstall office I do not nuke someone's database. I also have the chance to set the permissions on the folder and database to 777 so what ever account get it can read and write to it. It is still protected by the permissions on the above folders. I have my office.dmg set to run with a priority of 10 in my imaging setup and the prefs.dmg to run with a priority of 15 (so that they don't get overwritten). But when I startup office on a newly imaged machine, my prefs are not there. Running the prefs.dmg in selfservice does successfully push the prefs down.
